Position: Communications Werkstudent / Student Worker – Energy, Sustainability, and Infrastructure

Location: Berlin & Cologne

The Working Student will have the opportunity to provide wide-ranging communication support for client engagements, whilst building their marketing and communications foundation. You will work in a team to support and help deliver high quality client-ready work. As our clients are mostly large, complex companies and government entities, Working Students will be coached to demonstrate business professionalism and an ability to grasp new concepts quickly to perform effectively in the client environment. The Working Student will have the opportunity to support the business and work on various communication tasks for a large programme funded by the German Government’s International Climate Initiative.

We are looking for a Student Worker to support the Cool Up programme, which focuses on upscaling sustainable cooling in the Middle East North Africa region. Our focus countries include Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey.

Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the implementation of the strategic communication and stakeholder engagement strategy of the Cool Up programme
  • Supporting the programme’s communications work including, but not limited to, newsletters, social media posting, videos, blogs, press releases, webinars and event organization, and website content and maintenance.
  • Helping convert complex ideas and topics from the cooling and climate space into digestible, catchy texts and posts
  • Ensuring that documentation is properly managed, quality checked and organised
  • Upholding Guidehouse’s values of respect, integrity, innovation, stewardship and excellence and support our culture of inclusion and diversity
  • Building good relationships with the wider team and colleagues

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a relevant Bachelors-level course (e.g., marketing, communication, business etc.) at a university (or similar) in Germany
  • A team player who demonstrates the willingness and ability to work effectively in diverse teams and collaborate with colleagues at all levels
  • Capable of juggling a range of tasks while still having a strong eye for detail
  • Creative, organized and pro-active
  • An excellent communicator (particularly written communication)
  • Interested in personal development, as well as the climate and sustainability space
  • Fluent in English
  • Arabic or Turkish language skills – considered a plus
  • Tech savvy and experienced with Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint)
  • Experienced with/eager to learn website development and marketing tools, such as Mailchimp, WordPress, Goolge Analytics, Sendible, Canva, etc.
  • Experience in graphic design or video editing – considered a plus
