Our client is an Oil company based in Geneva. It is well established, has an international company culture and operations in other countries around the globe. The team is specifically looking for a leader who’s able to handle the daily middle office and risk related tasks, in addition to being an effective team leader who will be able to bring a new eye to this part of the business.

Job Description

Risk

• Team supervision
• Develop and integrate risk mitigation and margin enhancement strategies
• Define guidelines, implement policies and procedures for the Market Risk monitoring and control, and approval procedures
• Prepare monthly analytical reports for top management and take part in the Risk Management Committee
• Support and contribute to the development of the Trading and Risk Management system
• Ensure data is correctly entered in the trading system
• Ensure the trading desks adhere to the defined risk policies and trading limits
• Check and validate Marked to Market of all deals
• Calculate VaR and perform back-testing and stress testing
• Review and assess new trading flows from a Risk Management perspective
• Provide support on crude, products, LPG and cargo hedges
• Assess and validate forward market curves

Back and Middle Office

• Supervise the middle officers in their daily tasks, ensuring the following elements are properly delivered within the required deadlines: Position (check anytime the positions are correct in the system) , price risk, PnL (give clean and accurate explanations to all PnL moves), hedges dispatch, clearing (hedges entry, hedges reconciliation, margin call, paper brokers management, daily reports to banks)
• Contracts verification versus the trading system
• Synthetic prices
• Trigger entry
• Invoicing approval 3rd level

The Successful Applicant

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Risk and Middle Office management in Oil and/or Refined Product Trading
• IT savvy with experience on an ETRM
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Stress resistant and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines
• University degree in Economics/Finance/Mathematics, strong quantitative background
• Good knowledge of Risk and Middle Office Analysis and valuation models of financial products
• Proficiency in Excel
