Our client

FoRx Therapeutics is a preclinical, privately held company based in Basel, Switzerland. FoRx focuses on drugging key molecular targets involved in the DNA Replication Stress pathway, as a new approach in the development of targeted anti-cancer drugs. The company is backed by a strong syndicate of investors that include the Novartis Venture Fund, Pfizer Ventures, M Ventures, Omega Funds and LSP Venture Capital. This new position was created to strengthen our medical chemistry development. Location: Basel, Novartis Campus

Tasks

  • Provide medicinal chemistry expertise in the hit finding, hit-to-lead and lead optimization phases in close collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Design innovative small molecule to enable rapid multi-parameter optimization of hits and leads with the ultimate goal to deliver clinical candidates.
  • Application of state-of-the-art technology and current best practice in medicinal chemistry.
  • Work closely with external chemistry CRO teams to synthesize and screen small molecules.
  • Work collaboratively across scientific disciplines like computational chemistry on multiple projects providing important input on medicinal chemistry aspects.
  • Perform IP analyses and secure company´s IP by patent filing.
  • Help to build and expand an innovative drug discovery platform.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience in Organic Chemistry with >7 years of industry experience as a medicinal chemist.
  • Demonstrated track record of advancing drug discovery programs from early discovery to IND filing.
  • Experience in managing, directing and prioritizing the work of remote teams of medicinal and synthetic chemists at CROs.
  • Practiced in assessing the IP landscape and filing patent applications.
  • Highly organized, detail-orientated with excellent communication skills.
  • Proactive, forward-thinking and problem-solving attitude.
  • Strong team player.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
