Copy writing/editing – Blog Copywriting

We are seeking 2 skilled volunteers to help us with blog writing for our website here at The Pacific Heart, Lung & Blood Institute (PHLBI). PHLBI is focused on finding better treatments for rare cancers of the chest, including thymic cancer and mesothelioma. We have concentrated more on mesothelioma over the years, but there is a need for us to write compelling articles on the other areas of the chest.

We are seeking writers who are passionate researchers and are talented at translating medical articles into something captivating and comprehensive. You do not have to be a scientist yourself, but we hope that you are an avid learner and are passionate about putting your energy toward a good cause. This position is REMOTE.

You will be working alongside our Marketing Coordinator to find the most relevant events in science and create articles from them. This is a great opportunity for those who love research and writing. Our volunteer blog writers would be using their talent for educating potential patients, current patients and families, the medical community at large, and donors. By creating extra content for our blog, more people will be looking at us and the more people we reach in the community, the closer we are to achieving our mission. You will be working alongside our Marketing Coordinator to find the most relevant events in science and create articles from them. She and our director Clare Cameron will review your writing and would like for a couple of posts to be made to our website each week.

This project can be done remotely.
