Wilshire’s Legal team is looking for Counsel for a temporary 6–8-week assignment.
What you’ll do:
- Draft, review and negotiate various contracts including advisory, licensing, vendor and service agreements
- Structuring, negotiating and ongoing administration of investments
- Fund creation and management (private and public)
- Maintain legal files and records in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Work with business on product development and management
- Assist on regulatory issues such as reviews and filings
- Advise on general legal matters while working closely with other in-house attorneys, senior management, HR, compliance, finance, and operations
- Work with external counsel – outsource legal work as appropriate in a cost-effective manner
What you have:
- JD Degree
- Admitted to a US state bar (California or New York preferred but not required)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a law firm or in-house with strong legal skills (experience in corporate financial services, securities and/or investment management preferred but not required)
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills including experience counseling senior management on legal risk, compliance, and regulatory matters
- Ability to work independently and efficiently under time pressures and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with special attention to details
- Ability to balance legal expertise and business judgment
