Director, Legal Counsel

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced attorney who is passionate about building impactful consumer technology to join our team as a Director, Legal Counsel. Reporting to our co-founder, you will partner with our product and business leaders and oversee our legal framework, compliance and licensing requirements. As our first senior legal counsel, you will serve as a subject matter expert on all legal matters associated with our product offerings, review vendor and partnership contracts, supervise work related to our legal entities as well as manage our in-house legal professionals and outside counsels. Responsibilities:

• Lead Jerry’s legal strategy
• Design and implement compliance processes to manage product and business risks
• Proactively ensure our products are compliant with federal and state insurance, finance and privacy regulations
• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements with partners and vendors
• Manage outside counsel relationships

Minimum Qualifications:

• JD degree and membership in at least one US state bar
• 8+ years of legal experience
• Prior product counsel experience with regulatory, privacy and compliance matters in a consumer-facing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• A mix of law firm and in-house experience
• Experience with consumer-related litigation or regulatory investigations
