Your Role
- Involved in all aspects of the Company’s litigation operations, especially in discovery;
Provides risk management/avoidance counseling.
- Maintains contact with insurance professionals and risk management experts.
- Acts as liaison with external firms, consultants, governmental authorities at the federal, state, and local level.
- Has regular contacts with internal managers and occasional contact with executives on matter relating to the legal affairs of the Company from a litigation/risk avoidance perspective in a broad array of disciplines, including commercial/ contract activities, M&A, regulatory, corporate restructurings, bankruptcy, product liability, environmental, etc.
- Provides support for the establishment of litigation reserves and accruals.
Your Skills
- JD (Juris Doctorate) or equivalent from accredited US Law School; Current state bar license to practice law in Connecticut or ability to obtain Connecticut authorized in house counsel license
- 6-12 years litigation experience in either a law firm or corporate legal department
- A mix of outside counsel and in-house counsel experience is preferred; broad knowledge and experience in all aspects of litigation required
- Strong experience with product liability claims is preferred;
- Electronic discovery experience is strongly preferred;
- Resilient and possessing a high-level ability to prioritize and effectively work on multiple tasks/heavy case load
- Demonstrated ability to work as a strong team player
The salary for this role is $165,000.00 – $200,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Connecticut. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
