Job Description
As the VP, Analytics Development leader at Applied, you will provide hands-on leadership and mentorship, collaborate with business partners, and provide technical expertise within the Applied Analytics ecosystem. We understand that not all organizations are alike, and we value the insights, the diversity of thought and know-how, in addition to the creativity that one brings to this role from previous Analytics and Data Science development and management practices.
The Analytics Development team is responsible for developing both the core Analytics platform for the business, but also key data science model capabilities including embeddable insights making heavy use of Google Cloud Platform tools.
What You’ll Do
Facilitate the establishment and execution of the roadmap and vision for information delivery and management, including the enterprise BI & analytics, Data Science, Data Discovery and Workflow enablement for the analytics products
Growing the team to become world class Analytics organization. Determine what roles are most required. Drive technology requirements and investments that make analytics a strategic weapon for the company.
Work with Product Management to deliver on Roadmap goals.
Lead Analytics and data science engineers to architect and deliver the solutions that fulfill the Business information needs and align with the information vision and strategy
Apply business strategy while driving technology strategy, balancing short term and long term needs to ensure that the architecture can scale and evolve accordingly
Engage an end-to-end approach by connecting all the pieces of data to deliver the data while leveraging all available assets
Provide advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures to ensure schedule attainment, product development process adherence, and performance and budget targets are met
Take an active role in the performance management process by completing goal setting, interim review, and year-end review on a timely basis and soliciting ongoing feedback
We’re Looking For Someone Who
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office
Must Have
Minimum Twenty years of progressive information management solutions and end-to-end development life-cycle support and SDLC processes
Minimum five years leading a team including architects, engineers, quality assurance, and operations professionals
Experience in Risk Management or Insurance domain is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant field from an accredited college or university.
Established experience delivering information management solutions to large numbers of end users
Demonstrated understanding of enterprise data warehouse, big data, BI & analytics, content management and data management
Experience with multiple analytical tools; Tableau, Qlik, DOMO, Looker, Einstein Analytics, Power BI, Apache Spark, Snowflake, Big Query, Crystal Reports, Logi Analytics, Business Objects, Cognos etc
Experience with two or more from Tableau, Qlik, DOMO, Looker is preferred.
