Senior BI Analyst

Asda has an exciting opportunity to join the Data & Analytics team as part of our Business Services function. We are committed to developing our own pipeline of talent within data, visualisation, automation, planning and forecasting.

Your Role

Reporting into the Data Analytics Manager, the core of this role will involve designing, developing and enhancing our reporting toolkit.

Working in an agile environment, you will be responsible for understanding and translating business requirements. Strong data visualisation skills and an understanding of data processing is critical. In addition to BI development, the scope of this role will include influencing internal stakeholders to define and improve data sources and processes.

About You

• Utilising a variety of data sources and tools: A minimum of 2 years’ prior experience using Power BI for report development
• An understanding of data warehousing as well as demonstrated history of working with any of the following: Oracle / Essbase / SQL / Teradata/ Tableau / Power BI / Alteryx
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with experience of project work, enabling you to handle tight deadlines, working constructively with the project team to deliver on shared goals
• Strong communication skills to enable you to effectively communicate at the right level with technical, non-technical and senior business stakeholders alike
• Be passionate about driving the Business Intelligence agenda in ASDA, recognising the potential to drive decision making and storytelling through quality accessible data.
• A pro-active and inquisitive approach to identifying opportunities to improve working processes and systems, having the confidence to question the status quo
