Transformation Office Lead
Do you have a background at senior level running multiple large, Transformational Programmes in a Programme Manager or PMO Lead capacity? If so, then we would love to hear from you.
You will have around 8 direct reports and an overall team of around 24. This is an excellent opportunity to shape and develop the team as we are at the start of a very exciting journey.
This is a Senior Management position and heads up the Transformation Office, reporting to the Transformation Delivery Director. The Transformation Office is the engine room behind the delivery of our strategy and the value we unlock as a business and is at the centre of all Transformation and change at ASDA. The team plays a key role in the wider Transformation function, supporting the Transformation Leadership team in setting the pace and quality in planning and delivery, and driving a culture of accountability and ownership to ensure Transformation outcomes are high quality & value orientated
Your Role
- Provides strategic oversight & prioritisation of all activities within the Transformation Office. Supports Transformation Leadership in maintaining holistic oversight of all Transformation in the business, obtaining an overarching view of progress and playing a key role in resolving critical risks and issues blocking progress
- Supports the Transformation Leadership team in implementing the Transformation strategy. At the centre of efforts in driving a culture of excellence in delivery and in the achievement of sustainable outcomes
- Shapes and leads the Transformation governance and decision making frameworks. Provides assurance over Programme status and plans, providing the appropriate level of check and challenge to ensure the Programme is running successfully
- Supports high quality decision making through data-led insights and analysis and supports the wider Transformation Office in doing the same
- Partners with Programme Leaders & Directors to act as the critical friend at a strategic level, to ensure that Programmes are set up for success and to help create a course of action to remediate any Programmes that are facing challenges in delivering their objectives
- Drives a commercial mindset in assessing Transformation initiatives to ensure that commerciality is at the heart of informed value orientated decision making, and supports owners commercial requirements
- Collaborates with ASDA’s Internal Audit function to align Risk Management within the corporate risk frameworks and practices
- Partners with the business to define and facilitate Programme planning and business readiness cutover planning, working closely with Change Architecture and Business Readiness teams
- Sets the direction as to system and toolkit requirements for Programmes to capture their data accurately, liaising with interdependent functions to understand and optimise current system functionality
- Oversees the production and interpretation of value-add insights to provide an accurate view of Programme progress, with the ability to interrogate data as required
- Works closely with the Technology team to ensure aligned and complementary governance and standards established for all Tech enabled change
About You
- Proven experience at senior level running multiple large, Transformational Programmes in a Programme Manager or PMO Lead capacity
- Deep expertise across one or many of the following: Strategic PMO, Programme Management, Transformation, Strategy, Internal or client facing Consulting
- Track record of the successful delivery of large scale, complex Programmes, including experience of complex Tech enabled change
- Strong knowledge of cross-functional business operations and evidence of building collaborative cross functional relationships
- Successful track record of developing and managing teams and multiple 3rd party relationships
- Experience in fast paced and uncertain environments, with a track record of provide agile support to meet changing business needs
- Experience in building and managing change operating models and identifying and implementing process, structure and operational improvements
- Preferred: experience in large scale M&A and separation Programmes
- Preferred: FMCG and/or Food Retail sector experience
