Quality Data Analyst

Responsibilities

As a Quality Data Analyst on our TikTok US content safety team, you will work cross functionally with R&D, Strategy & Analytics, Policy, Training, and Operations teams to provide the metrics and data that influence content moderation strategies and processes. This role will play a key role in using data and insights to map out processes to further develop Trust and Safety quality programs and content moderation strategies.

Key Responsibilities
– Develop, drive and deliver on forward-looking, data-based strategies to shape trust and safety policies.
-Provide concise, clear, and data-supported analysis on various Trust and Safety Policy issues for TikTok.
-Create action plans to resolve complex issues and drive quality improvement.
– Identify improvement areas for vendor performance and work closely with internal stakeholders and vendor leadership to prepare solutions.
– Maintain an understanding of TikTok’s policies, procedures, app features, and internal documents.
– Attend weekly business reviews, prepare glide paths, track daily and weekly quality metrics.
– Work on AdHoc projects as requested by leadership.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
– 3+ years experience in Trust & Safety, or similar industry experience.
– Experience creating analysis reports and conducting RCAs.
– Strong communication skills, attention to detail, create reports and maintain documentation.
– Creative, solution-oriented mindset with the ability execute under pressure and meet deadlines.
– Experience applying policy tag(s) or action(s) on media content.
– Able to work with minimal supervision, taking ownership of work and completing tasks in timely manner, while adapting rapidly to changing work environments, priorities and organizational needs.
– Ability to provide data driven analysis to cross functional teams in various processes, policies, and procedures.
– Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) Google Suite, (Sheets, Docs, Slides)
– Travel between our Los Angeles and Mountain View/Sunnyvale offices, 1 – 2 times a year.

Preferred (Nice-to-have) Qualifications
– Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education/experience or 3+ years experience in a quality assurance role.
– Understanding of the broader landscape of new policy developments in media, tech, and the entertainment industries
– Proven experience successfully manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large and disconnected data sets.
– Experience working in a start-up, or forming new teams in established companies
– Interest in project management skill development.
– Proven experience successfully manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large and disconnected data sets within spreadsheets and databases.
– Familiar with Tableau or other data visualization tools that utilize query language.
– Familiar with trends, challenges, and memes across media platforms such as TikTok, Facebook, 4chan, and Reddit.
