Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview H9 Technical Recruitment is looking to recruit 2x Mechanical Design Engineers to join a vibrant alternative energy technology company based in South Yorkshire. They are heavily involved in the Hydrogen and Clean Energy sector, and with continued success and growth they are looking to identify 2x Design Engineers with 12 months to 2 years’ experience. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will report to the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer and collaborate on projects from concept to commissioning. You will work closely with the process and electrical engineers, production, and commissioning teams. Role & Responsibilities Creating 3D part and assembly models using SolidWorks Creating engineering drawings for manufacture and assembly Creating engineering calculations to support design Managing drawing revisions and design specifications. Ability to understand and implement GD&T Creating and maintaining bills of materials Continuous improvement of the design and development procedures Creating assembly renders for the promotional literature Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers Communicating project updates and latest challenges to engineering colleagues

Skills & Qualifications Experience using SolidWorks; (1 years minimum) and knowledge of 2D software (4MCAD) A high standard of written and verbal communication High standards of accuracy and attention to detail. Minimum qualification of HNC in Mechanical Engineering Ability to demonstrate engineering problem solving Be able to manage time and priorities individually and work well as a team Strong problem-solving skills including the ability to handle multiple project deliverables Experienced with process plant design particularly piping systems Knowledge of flammable gases and/or pressure systems is desirable Able to read and interpret Piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID). Experience of structural engineering
