Who we are

Peace Direct is an international charity with a big mission: to work with local people to stop violence and build sustainable peace in some of the world’s most conflict affected countries. More than that, we want to change the international system so that it better supports the role that local people and communities play in preventing violence and building and sustaining peace.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Systems Improvement Manager to join our Finance & Operations team.

As an organisation, we have adapted to home working in the last 18 months and now we are adapting again to a fully flexible, hybrid way of working. We have done all this with our existing suite of digital and IT tools, though we are aware that we are not utilising them to their full potential or consistently using them across the organisation. With hybrid working now the norm, we need strong systems to support this, particularly as our internal requirements for technology that underpin Peace Direct’s growing work is increasing rapidly.

As a result of these changes in our ways of working we have created this new role and are looking for someone with strong experience of reviewing and implementing effective information management and IT systems. You will help to review our information management and security across all of our systems and functions, including: technology, people, policies, procedures and processes.

The ideal candidate is someone who can map, audit and streamline our existing processes, and manage the design and implementation of an integrated set of solutions that is fit for purpose for our team. You should be someone with an analytical mind who enjoys responsibility for overseeing many different aspects of IT operations, infrastructure, service, and delivery.

Peace Direct fully operates a hybrid-based working model and when not working remotely, you will be based in our small, friendly London office. The position is well suited to an individual that is looking to work in a very hands-on role in a welcoming and supportive workplace. We would love to hear from candidates who feel they have the IT skills and attributes to deliver on our wide range of objectives.

What’s in it for you?

In return, we can offer you a relaxed working environment, a great team of colleagues, excellent benefits, including 10% weekly paid time off for personal wellbeing; 25 days annual leave plus paid leave when the office closes between Christmas and New Year, and a variety of activities and social events to promote health and wellbeing that enable our teams to enjoy a positive, cohesive work environment.

For more details, please read the job description and person specification. If you still feel that this is for you and you fit the criteria, please send a cover letter and CV to [email protected]. Only shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete an application form.

**The closing deadline for applications is Tuesday 12th July 2022. First round interviews will be online, during the week commencing 18th July.

Second round interviews will be within 1-2 weeks after the first and will be held in person at our London office.**

Peace Direct strives to be a diverse and inclusive employer, with equality of opportunities regardless of personal identity, and we are committed to improving our systems and ways of working to support this, including creating a Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DEI) working group, DEI strategy and recruitment guidelines. We strongly encourage individuals from disadvantaged and underrepresented backgrounds to apply, including Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME), LGBTQ+, people with disabilities and people with mental health challenges.

Peace Direct is committed to preventing and protecting all people from harm in their interactions with us. We expect all those that act in our name to uphold our approach to doing no harm and to sign up to our Safeguarding policy.
