What’s the job?

  • Owns the overall Operational Communications plan and Retail announcements
  • Responsible for ensuring that B&Q Operational and trading – communications needs are met in a simple, clear, consistent and timely fashion
  • Develops the communications principles in line with audience requirements, to ensure all communications remain fresh and fit for purpose
  • Works with colleagues in planning roles across B&Q to ensure we have the right level of activity for stores is communicated
  • Support the delivery of Retail Leadership events with the creation of multimedia presentation materials
  • Continually review and strengthen communications by evaluating and measuring the effectiveness – create follow up plans/modifications as needed
  • Responsible for Retail process’ to ensure right content, right channels and right audience
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure Retail processes accurately reflect any change activity

Key Business Relationships

  • Act as a communications advisor, to support and influence colleagues, peers and leaders
  • Works closely with Retail Leadership to ensure trading communication is delivered
  • Works alongside Retail Operations Partners to deliver communication in line with category priorities
  • Works closely the IC team in ensuring alignment of communication to support B&Q’s priorities

What We Need

  • Proven and significant experience of operational communication
  • Competent user of Poppulo, MS Office Suite
  • Retail Experience preferable
