POSITION SUMMARY:

The UI/UX Design Intern is responsible for working with internal stakeholders, product managers, developers, and end-users to translate requirements into wireframes and ultimately into web and mobile applications. This position plays a critical role in the design of our proprietary products and is responsible for the user experience. The ideal intern should be great at quickly solving visual problems, passionate about finding the perfect design solution for the task at hand and loves to challenge themselves at providing the best experience for all end-users.

POSITION DETAILS:

  • Work with mentor to define product functionality and translate specs into wireframe prototypes.
  • Able to design clear conceptual work that demonstrates UX flow and use-case scenarios
  • Learn to create user stories to ensure developers understand the business case, and build optimal features
  • Present features to end users, collect feedback, and make adjustments as necessary in collaboration with mentor
  • Engage in designing graphical solutions for various media types (print, web, mobile, email, etc.)
  • Participate in development meetings to learn and understand how to best drive product vision
  • Performs other design related duties as required and assigned by mentor

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program in a computer related field (computer design, graphic arts, visual arts or related degree).
  • Portfolio submission is required.
  • Some experience in web application design
  • Familiar with working with design software (for example, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Familiar with advanced functions (for example, vectors and compositing)
  • Familiar with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Understanding of best practices in UI and UX design
  • Naturally organized, able to work autonomously, with the ability to quickly reprioritize projects in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong level of initiative and flexibility.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
