Job description:The Helmholtz Centre Potsdam – GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences is the national centre for geosphere research. As a member of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres we are part of the largest scientific organization in Germany. With approximately 1,300 employees our key mission is to secure a profound understanding of the systems and processes of solid Earth, to develop strategies and options for action in addressing global change and its impacts on a regional level, to understand natural hazards and to minimize associated risks, to ensure the sustainable provision of energy and raw materials for a high-tech society and to evaluate the influence of human activity on system Earth. The aim of the Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics Section at GFZ is to establish remote sensing as a core method in geo- and environmental sciences. This GFZ section is also engaged in MSc-level education at the University of Potsdam. A new Advanced Earth Observation, * Support the development and delivery of the new Advanced Earth Observation module, incl. practical exercises and web-based methods

  • Contribute as part of a team of GFZ researchers

module is in development and will be given for the first time in the “Sommersemester” 2022. The module is aimed at students from relevant MSc programs (CLEWS, Geo-Ecology, RSIV) that are interested in deepening their knowledge and experience in the field., * BSc degree in relevant field

  • Enrolled in a university in the Berlin/Potsdam area
  • Interest/experiences in (higher-level) education and courses in the field of environmental remote sensing
  • Willingness to develop/test new teaching materials and working with students, * Ambitious and varied tasks in a dynamic and international research environment
