New College Swindon have an exciting opportunity for a Careers and Progression Adviser to join the team.

Location: Swindon, Wiltshire

Salary: £23,937 – £24,912 pa

Actual Salary: £12,180 – £12,676 pa

Hours: 22 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Contract Details: Permanent, Part-Time

About Us

New College Swindon has gone through an exciting time of change since we merged with Swindon College to become one College. Also, with the up-and-coming development of the successful 20M bid of the Institute of Technology, opening in September 2021, which will be an inclusive centre for technical qualifications, higher apprenticeships and training for key technical roles, it’s a really great time to be joining us. Careers And Progression Adviser – The Role

Are you passionate about mentoring and guiding young people on their career paths?

If yes, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Careers and Progression Adviser to join our Student Services department. You will support the effective delivery of appropriate Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) to Applicants, Students and Ex-Students.

Careers And Progression Adviser – Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a range of CEIAG services, in line with the College Careers Policy across both College Campuses and external staff and agencies
  • Market services and activities
  • Take part in continuous professional development
  • Provide data regarding the quality of the service, keep records and contribute to reports
  • Any other duties commensurate with the post as may be requested by the Director of Student Services

Career And Progression Adviser – You

  • Minimum Level 2 in Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Level 2 ICT qualification or equivalent or MOS unit
  • Qualification in Careers Guidance, (QCF Level 6) and educated to Degree Level or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a careers adviser role
  • A current working knowledge of knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of confidentiality & GDPR requirements within an educational setting
