Position Type
Co-op Student (Spring/Summer term May 2 – August 19, 2022)
You will be responsible for the performance of a variety of duties such as entering invoices and credit memos, account reconciliations, and answering internal and external inquiries. You will be responsible for performing bank reconciliations for several accounts, working with merchant services, as well as maintaining and reconciling prepaid schedules.
What Your Day To Day Will Look Like
- Ensure that vendor bills are properly coded and entered in the system in a timely fashion
- Follow up with employees regarding bill approvals
- Prepare bank reconciliations, compile reports to support unreconciled balances
- Data entry
- Perform vendor account reconciliations
- Assist retrieving documentation for external and internal audits
- Maintain and reconcile monthly prepaid schedules
- Handle inquiries from vendors and internal staff
What You Need To Succeed
- Enrolled in college/university and studying Finance, Accounting or a relatable field
- Some accounts payable and general accounting experience is an asset
- Some knowledge of general bookkeeping procedures is an asset
- Knowledge of general accounting principals
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
- Effective use of Excel for reporting purposes
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic, team-based environment
- Strong attention to detail
