Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a talented professional for the role of a Program Storytelling Manager. Reporting to the Director of Storytelling & Brand, the Program Storytelling Manager will help to coordinate program-related content for Habitat’s public-facing channels. This manager will collaborate with colleagues across Habitat’s various programs and throughout our global network to help shape and implement agreed-upon content plans.

The Program Storytelling Manager will craft feature stories, articles, Q&As, social posts and various visual assets that highlight Habitat’s mission along with our homeowners and volunteers. This manager will originate content ideas, manage conversations and schedules, and collaborate with communication stakeholders to apply overall content strategy to features. The Program Storytelling Manager will support the work of the social and digital teams and will market the program work of Habitat for Humanity. This individual will focus on reader engagement and will also create the specific content and design requirements/strategies for our online and print platforms.

This position is a hybrid role, with the expectation of working inside our Atlanta office a few days out of the week.

Key Responsibilities:

– Implement content plans under the supervision of the Director of Storytelling & Brand for various print and digital projects.

– Liaise with programs requesting content for Habitat’s public-facing channels.

– Create surface story ideas in collaboration with program areas and also act as a brand and messaging ambassador, ensuring all content aligns with Habitat’s brand and messaging framework and storytelling and social strategies.

– Create and shape content so that it is aligned with organizational brand and messaging strategy.

– Assist with coordination and completion of production processes, as well as with production, distribution and circulation matters for flagship publication.

Key Requirements:

– Pursuant to current HFHI policy, this position requires full vaccination against COVID-19, except to the extent such requirement is prohibited by applicable law.

– Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field.

– 5 years of writing for a creative agency, corporate brand, and/or online publication or magazine.

– Ability to write, edit and evaluate content to meet brand, marketing and messaging needs.

– Ability to work with subject matter experts on a wide variety of content styles and need for myriad audiences.

– Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate with a variety of departments and stakeholders.

– Strong communications and problem-solving skills.

– Experience with content marketing, creative campaigns, social platforms and SEO preferred.

Preferred:

– Previous experience writing brand content for a nonprofit.

– Previous marketing experience.
