State Administrative Manager 15 – Wildlife Regional Manager-Southwest/Northern Lower/Upper Peninsula

Job Description

This position is responsible for setting the vision, management, direction, and administration of all Wildlife Division programs and activities within a given Region under Wildlife Division guidance and utilizing Guiding Principles and Strategies (GPS). This includes coordinating programmatic activities within the Region and with other Division supervisors, membership on Division workgroups/teams, full responsibility for regional budgets and work planning, and representing the Wildlife Division to accomplish the Department mission. In addition, this position will serve as a communication link and help coordinate management activities with various natural resources partners, including government and non-government entities. This position will serve as a second line supervisor ensuring all aspects of personnel administration are completed by the Field Operation Managers. Other personnel responsibilities include utilization of the Wildlife Division’s position management model, hiring, and counseling.

Position Description

There are three vacancies available within the Southwest, Northern Lower and Upper Peninsula regions.

Required Education And Experience

Education

Possession of a bachelor’s degree in any major.

Experience

Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.

Alternate Education and Experience

Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
