Job Description And Duties

Are you an analyst who would like the opportunity to help DTSC build a new program aimed at environmental restoration and revitalization of vulnerable communities across the state? DTSC’s Discovery and Enforcement Program is looking for a highly energetic analytical professional who has experience in data mining and research!

General Statement: Under the supervision of the Supervising Hazardous Substances Engineer II (Branch Chief) in the Site Mitigation and Restoration Program (SMRP) Discovery and Enforcement Branch, the SSA performs work of average difficulty in a wide variety of data mining, data management, and analytical staff services assignments for the Branch, and other technical and administrative SMRP staff.

What You’ll Do

  • Utilize Excel and other software applications including EnviroStor, SharePoint data, Daily Log, Cost Recovery Management System, FLUXX and other data sources, research and provide analysis to management and Branch staff with correct, up-to-date, and easy to understand information that will enable them to carry out the mission-critical goals of DTSC
  • Use Excel to sort, screen and use a pivot-table and conditional formatting to arrange a focused data set
  • Provide analytical support in a wide variety of assignments such as development and monitoring of dashboards using Power-BI, program evaluation and planning, and performance measures/workload tracking as it relates to the DTSC Strategic Plan and the Branch Operations Plan
  • Monitor data in EnviroStor and evaluate the progress in meeting Branch Performance Measure commitments in Program Dasboard
  • Utilize Microsoft Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, Project and data management and analysis functions of Excel, along with Power-BI
  • Identify administrative tasks and annual recurring deadlines for SMRP Branch Chiefs
  • Independently maintain information on the Branch website, including development and maintenance of newly requested websites
