Description

If a soda cooler can become a portal to lead people into another dimension, what can you become at Meow Wolf? If you have experience developing and executing comprehensive PR strategies that incorporate media relations, story pitching and effective writing, as well as know how to effectively create and distribute media materials, develop relationships with media and plan & coordinate press events, this role may be for you! You’ll be supporting Meow Wolf’s spectacular growth in immersive art and attractions, identifying opportunities to position our incredible experience and products, collaborating with internal teams, external thought leaders, and agencies.

Requirements

• Increase awareness for Meow Wolf the brand and establish the destination of Omega Mart as a “must see” attraction in Las Vegas
• Develop and foster positive relationships with strategic business-to-business and business-to-consumer media representatives to cultivate media stories around thought leadership, trend pitching, etc.
• Plan and conduct public relations activities including but not limited to handling media requests for Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart and the preparation/distribution of press materials such as press releases and media alerts, press kits, b-roll, artist bios, etc.)
• Host a wide variety of working media on-site from print, online and broadcast outlets. Plan and execute photo and video shoots, and manage crews while onsite
• Work closely with the LVCVA to pitch and secure visiting media; participate in media FAMs to ensure we are included in city-wide outreach
• Pitch local, national and feeder market media outlets opportunities for broadcast and editorial coverage
• Coordinate media opportunities, provide partnering media with necessary information and resources, facilitate interviews and filmings, and ensure support for onsite media as needed
• Work in collaboration with the entire Marketing & Sales team and our national PR agency on initiatives and pitches. Collaborate with AREA15’s marketing team and PR agency when appropriate
• Coordinate and moderate interviews between media and subject matter experts
• Partner with internal teams to create and optimize special programming
• Plan and execute regular FAM/awareness events for press, marketing, and social media partners
• Deliver regular reports of PR initiatives including analysis and evaluation of KPIs/ROI
• Work with social media and digital marketing team on content generation, editorial planning, and distribution as needed.
• Continually manage expectations of partners, senior management, and internal departments through clear and concise communication
• Develop partnerships with key media, influencers and brands that align with Meow Wolf and Omega Mart to expand the brand awareness of Omega Mart to target audiences
• Coordinate onsite and remote events including special event activations, celebrity red carpets and appearances, invite lists, and local/national media efforts
• Manage celebrity and VIP visits, draft and distribute celebrity sightings and event recaps to local, regional, and national publications
• Assist with communications and initiatives of special programs such as Lifetime Passholders, VIP Experiences, etc.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years PR experience in the Las Vegas attractions, entertainment, service, resort industries or equivalent
• Proven experience developing integrated PR plans that incorporates innovative PR strategies along with sales and marketing goals
• Excellent writing abilities in a range of formats from press releases to media pitches, advertorials, and social posts
• Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills
• Enthusiasm and passion for Meow Wolf and the opportunity to bend minds at Omega Mart

Desired Qualifications

• Existing relationships with Las Vegas media, influencers, agencies, casino PR teams, etc.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
• Willing to work outside comfort zone to assist guests or fellow team members
• Ability to stay on top of current events and industry trends to position Meow Wolf in timely and appropriate narratives
• Superb networking abilities and desire to represent Meow Wolf at a variety of community events

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This job operates in a variety of professional office, tradeshow, resort and event environments. Occasional work in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, fog machines and small and/or enclosed spaces.

Physical Demands

• Moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
• Remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
• Positioning or moving objects up to 20 pounds

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
