The CDC Foundation is seeking a COVID-19 Vaccine Special Projects Coordinator who will work closely with many diverse immunization partners to ensure Nevadans with underlying health conditions and communities most at-risk for COVID-19 and influenza have access to both influenza and COVID-19 vaccine. Ensuring all Nevadans have access to flu vaccines during the 2021-2022 flu season is vital during the COVID-19 pandemic both to prevent morbidity and mortality from influenza, and to keep influenza cases out of Nevada’s hospital systems that may be inundated with COVID-19 cases. The COVID-19 Special Projects Coordinator will work on special projects with a diverse group of partners to ensure all Nevada Citizens are reached and understand the importance of getting vaccinated.

- Location: This position is located in Carson City, Reno, or Las Vegas and will be required to work in office 2 days a week with the ability to telework the remaining 3 workdays.
- Position End Date: 12/31/2022
- Salary: $55,000 plus benefits
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a health science, behavioral science or closely related field applicable to the program area.
- Two years of health-related experience which included researching, collecting, and analyzing data and statistics, developing objectives, protocols, and procedures, providing health education services to target groups or the general public, and/or investigation and prevention of communicable or chronic diseases
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and conduct COVID-19 pandemic vaccine planning activities
- Coordinate and conduct pandemic Influenza planning activities
- Coordinate Project oversight, including compliance visits
- Human Papillomavirus (HPV) quality improvement activities, including project management of Workgroup deliverables
Special Notes:
- This role is involved in a dynamic public health program. As such, roles and responsibilities are subject to change as situations evolve. Roles and responsibilities listed above may be expanded upon or updated to match priorities and needs, once written approval is received by both the CDC Foundation and Nevada Department of Health and Human Services, in order to best support the State of Nevada in their public health programming.
- This position is located in Reno, Carson City or Las Vegas and will be working part time in the office part time telecommuting for the foreseeable future. CDC Foundation retains the right to make adjustments to this as required.
The CDC Foundation requires all employees to be fully vaccinated* for COVID-19 as a condition of employment effective November 22, 2021. All offers of employment after that date are contingent upon proof of full-vaccination status as a part of the pre-employment process.
- Fully vaccinated is defined as follows: At least two weeks have passed since receipt of the Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine, or the second dose of the either the Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech two-dose vaccines.
