EdTech Product Manager, Entrepreneurship Practice

Job Summary:

TechnoServe’s more specific work in Entrepreneurship benefited 64,000 MSMEs owners across Latin America and Africa in 2020 by providing them with key skills, access to funding and markets that enabled them to earn an estimated ~$100 million in additional revenue. As the world adjusts to remote-first learning, Technoserve aims to dramatically increase the scale of this work by launching a fully digital entrepreneurship model.

In the EdTech Product Manager role, you will be responsible for developing and growing this exciting new initiative.

We are seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial leader to develop, pilot and scale a sustainable platform for TechnoServe training educational content aimed at small business owners in emerging markets, the immediate goals of this new innitiative are:

• Within the first 6 months, develop an MVP for the digital training platform.
• Within the first 18 months, demonstrate traction with the target market , such that TechnoServe can attract a next round of investment.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

• Design, Develop and test different recurring revenue models, e.g. freemium, use of corporate/partner sponsors, and philanthropic subsidies with sliding scale payments for small business owners in developing economies.
• Develop a clear strategy and key performance indicators for online marketing and sales growth projections
• Adapt existing content to the platform.
• Perform tests with internal TechnoServe Entrepreneurship Practice teams around the world
• Communicate the platform internally and externally to elevate awareness of the project and establish TechnoServe leadership in the EdTech space for business owners in emerging markets.
• Develop partnerships with universities, corporations and governments to develop, test and scale the initiative.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of relevant experience or a Master’s Degree with 5 years of relevant experience including prior product manager experience in an online Edtech or comparable business from the seed (concept) stage through product-market fit
• Or 5 years with a Master’s degree
• Solid understanding of how to use social media and online marketing to build a demand funnel
• Understanding of digital training business models
• Fluency in English required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Work experience in Africa and/or Latin America
• Spanish, French and/or Portuguese are a plus
