SOSi is seeking an Operating Room Nurse/Medical Surgical Nurse Lead to join a large medical support services program in Iraq supporting our U.S. Government customer. The Operating Room/Medical Surgical Nurse Lead will facilitate providing professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgery. 

 

  •  Provides professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgery. 
  •  Prepares and maintains operating room for all surgical procedures. 
  •  Circulates and scrubs for surgical procedures. 
  •  Responds to surgical emergencies such as cardiac, pulmonary, or respiratory failure and hemorrhage. 
  •  Provides health promotion and basic medical care to patients with various medical and surgical diagnoses. 
  •  Monitors vital signs. 
  •  Practices their specialty based on demand of their work settings. 
  •  Promotes and Restores patient health by completing the nursing process.
  •  Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staffs. 
  •  Provides physical and psychological support for patients, friends and families. Reinforces patient understanding of disease, medications, and self-care skills and answering questions. 
  •  Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards. 
  •  Measures health outcomes against patient care goals and standards. 
  •  Makes or recommends necessary adjustments.
  •  Follows hospital and nursing division’s philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing.
  •  State Nurse Practice Act, and other governing agency regulations. 

 

  • Required and able to obtain Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT).

  • Bachelors’ degree in Nursing.

  • Current unrestricted U.S. state license as a Registered Nurse.

  • Membership in the Nursing Specialty professional association is desirable.

  • Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse is required.

  • Maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

  • All health care providers and medical support staff must have recent clinical experience in patient care for at least six months out of the past year.
