What You Will Be Doing

The Cash Flow, Uptime, & Indirect Products and Services Controlling organization is an important function to secure long-term profitability within Group Trucks Purchasing (GTP). The Business Controller will be a part of a high performing global team based in the US, India, France, and Sweden. You will be close to the operations but independent, working to safeguard integrity and fostering a bottom-line impact mindset in purchasing activities and behaviors. You will secure timely and qualitative monthly deliveries in closing, provide guidance and support to the organization on your area of expertise and scope, and will actively contribute to projects and process improvements.

This position will report to the Director for Cash Flow, Uptime, & Indirect Products and Services Controlling, and will be based out of our Greensboro, NC campus location.

Business Partnership Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a business partner (understand needs, question, and support)
  • Perform defined control loop for cases booked each month in the region
  • Perform regular audits on cases reported in system
  • Produce monthly bridges (versus previous forecast, month)
  • Prepare and provide monthly performance synthesis including Indirect Products & Services (IPS) financial contribution KPI’s, payment terms, spend analysis, OPEX/HC
  • Contribute to continuous improvements within IPS to ensure consistent, traceable, and credible performance measurement and reporting
  • Be actively involved in all projects affecting IPS financial KPI’s
  • Contribute to annual budget or forecast related processes

Payment Terms/Cash Flow Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Perform closing and analysis of cash flow from trade payables
  • Manage monthly payment terms closing, analysis, and reporting
  • Follow-up of cash flow improvement initiatives
  • Support buyers and managers to improve payment days and/or group cash flow by proactively analyzing the payment term supplier base
  • Drive and coordinate regional specific payment terms / cash flow projects together with internal stakeholders within Volvo Group
  • Support buyers with cash flow principles during negotiations preparation: interest rates, cash flow mechanism, cost of capital
  • General support on rules/restrictions within payment terms areas such as FPP compliance, local limitations, or contractual requirements
  • Manage early payment requests: challenge reasons for the request and secure policy compliance, analysis of impact and feasibility

What We Are Looking For

  • Recent university graduate with a bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or business
  • Ability/desire to work in collaboration with a global team
  • Strong IT skill set inclusive of Microsoft Office applications
  • Developed prioritization and organization skills
  • Proactive, agile, trustworthy, dependable
