In the Ford Driver Assistance Technologies (DAT) program, Ford’s Safety Electronics team designs and develops hardware, functional models, and software that provide Best in Class behavior for features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Cross Traffic Alert, Active Park Assist and 360 Camera Systems. The DAT DevOps team supports all software development activities by providing CI/CD pipelines to build and deploy software, provide branching strategies, and release management.
What You’ll Be Able To Do
We are seeking a Software Configuration Manager (SCM) who will be part of the DevOps team supporting software developers with delivering state of the art DAT features. You will play a key role in the delivery and integrity of the software build and deployment of processes and overall quality of code versioning and integration across development, test and production environments. This is a high visibility role that involves interaction with software developers, feature owners, program managers and other stakeholders.
You Will
- Play a key role in the architecture of projects’ GitHub structure
- Design, implement and maintain scalable package, build and deployment automation frameworks
- Define and maintain versioning, branching, traceability and merging plans for multiple releases
- Responsible for software baselining and release to meet the program milestones
- Closely collaborate with the DevOps team to maintain build processes and requirement to align the CI/CD infrastructure to deliver software artifacts in timely manner
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to align deployment schedules with program milestones
- Seek and develop process improvements to maintain efficiencies
- Analyze and resolve issues related to software configuration and release
- Oversee and maintain integration and code deployment processes
The Minimum Requirements We Seek
- Bachelors in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- 3+ years of Software Configuration Management experience with source code control, configuration management, and code branching/merging strategies
- 2+ years of experience using Git extensively
- 1+ year of experience developing software using C, C++, C# or Java
- 1+ year of experience working in a DevOps environments
- 1+ year of experience working in an agile development methodology
Our Preferred Requirements
- 5+ years of Software Configuration Management experience with source code control, configuration management, and code branching/merging strategies
- 3+ year of experience developing software using C, C++, C# or Java
- 2+ year of experience working in a DevOps environments
- 2+ year of experience working in an agile development methodology
- Strong communication skills
- Experience in coordinating parallel deliverables in collaboration with cross functional teams
- Proficient using Git, Jira, and Jenkins
- Experience following software development lifecycle best practices
