TVET Programme Manager Malawi

Role Purpose

The Programme Manager will lead on British Council Malawi TVET/Skills projects to meet specific project targets and the wider projects portfolio objectives. The role will require working with partners and clients to achieve an overall performance of programming that meets our strategic goals in Malawi and contributes to those of British Council Sub-Saharan Africa and globally.

Role specific knowledge and experience:

The main essential knowledge and experience points that we are looking for you to evidence are:

  • University Degree and 5 years’ experience in the TVET/skills sector or broader education sector
  • Strong experience of (i) education/skills or (ii) education to employment international development sector
  • Experience of successfully managing small to medium scale donor-funded projects in Malawi or another country with a similar operating environment.
  • Business writing skills

Role Specific Skills:

  • Ability to drive results
  • Ability to manage self and others
  • Project Management (including budgets)
  • Partner and stakeholder management

Desirable Experience:

  • Project Management Qualification
  • Practical knowledge and experience of Malawi’s TVET sector or country with similar operating context
  • Experience with Education or Employability focused projects.

Further Information

Pay Band – 6

Remuneration – MK 1,252,950 per month**

Contract Type – 2 Year Fixed Term Contract

Location – Lilongwe, Malawi

Requirements – All applicants should have a pre-existing legal status to live and work in country of application. The British Council will not facilitate/sponsor visa applications and work permits.

Closing Date – 13 March 2022 23:59 South Africa Time
