Background
Tiko is a global non-profit organisation that is headquartered in South Africa. Our
main aim is to motivate young people to make positive choices using innovative
technology, real-time data, and behavioural insights. Through our digital platform,
Tiko, and our local ecosystem of partners, we connect Tiko members to existing local
service providers to meet their health and wellness needs. Tiko is currently
operational in six markets across sub-Saharan Africa (Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda,
Burkina Faso, South Africa and Zambia) and is set to expand to at least 2 new
markets in the next year. Tiko is looking for a consultant to work closely with our
operations team to develop a blueprint for our operational model. The blueprint will
be used to ensure consistency in how Tiko expands our operations into new markets.
Scope of work
The consultant will be expected to gain a comprehensive understanding of Tiko
operations, best practices and lessons learnt and develop a blueprint which is
concise, clear and easy to understand. The blueprint will be used by Tiko operational
teams to standardise our implementation across all existing and new markets. The
consultant will be expected to provide suggestions on the best format for the
blueprint whether it be a document, deck etc. and provide accompanying training
tools and templates as required. Based on Tiko’s biggest market in Kenya, the
blueprint will cover our core operations including: operational implementation,
management and due diligence; connectivity and tech set up; application of nudges
and behavioural economics, partner recruitment, onboarding, training and
management; branding, marketing and demand-generation strategies; roles and
responsibilities of core operational team members; risk management; safeguarding;
Government engagement and programme management.
Deliverables
- Conduct interviews with key stakeholders across operations, programmes,
marketing and monitoring, evaluation, research and learning to gain a solid
understanding of how Tiko operates and generate key lessons learnt and best
practices which will be embedded within the operational blueprint. - Develop and design an outline of the proposed operational blueprint for sign
off by the Chief Impact Officer. - Create the blueprint and develop any relevant accompanying training tools.
