Valuation Analyst / Financial Analyst

Locations are Nashville, TN and Dallas, TX
Overview
As a trusted advisor, our client offers a range of transaction advisory services focused on the healthcare sector. The Valuation Analyst will be valuing debt, equity and structured securities; presenting analyses and conclusions to committees, management and boards of directors, reviewing valuation and other financial models and providing other assessments.
Responsibilities
- Supporting portfolio valuation teams, which provide valuations of illiquid debt and equity securities held by hedge funds, private equity funds, and business development companies
- Assisting in the preparation of fee proposals to clients, including scoping discussions, pitch materials, and engagement pricing
- Participating in deal team discussions, preparing information request lists, designing and drafting client deliverables
- Reviewing client investment memoranda, board of directors’ presentations, specific debt and equity agreements, and financial models to develop an understanding of the company or securities being analyzed
- Reviewing and compiling published financial information, such as public company filings, press releases
- Assisting in the preparation of pitch materials and information request lists to clients
- Identifying relevant comparable companies and M&A transactions established by project teams
- Researching and providing information on economic conditions, industry-specific conditions and trends, acquisitions and divestitures within specific industries, and various investment attributes of publicly traded and privately held securities
- Compiling statistical summaries of companies’ financial information, developing and computing financial ratios, and presenting the analyses in an organized manner
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, CFA or MBA a plus but not required
- 6 months to 3 years of experience in valuation group of a big four, independent valuation consulting, healthcare or transaction advisory services practice
- Strong analytical abilities and understanding of financial statement analysis
- A fundamental understanding of financial valuation theory, methodologies and applications
- Strong knowledge of Excel financial modeling
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with team members
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- An exceptional work ethic
