Experienced Associate – M&A

Our client, a leading investment banking boutique that specializes in the financial services industry, is seeking to add an Experienced Associate to their team in New York, NY for a Direct Hire position. This is an in-office position, working in Midtown Manhattan.

This individual should be able to help the firm both lead and execute strategic Advisory/M&A assignments in our industry of specialty (asset & wealth management) and adjacent sectors, such as fintech. The firm works with clients nationwide, and Associates should expect to travel approximately 25% of the time.

Candidates will:

• Co-execute M&A deals and strategic advisory projects
• Build and/or review valuation models (DCF, projections, public and private comparable, historical M&A transactions, etc.)
• Organize/review due diligence materials and processes
• Engage in substantial, ongoing client contact
• Provide coaching/mentorship to Analysts, as appropriate

Candidates should have the following qualifications:

• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, consulting, corporate development, equity research, or accounting
• At least 1 year of M&A experience is required
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or CFA preferred
• Superior oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership and execution skills
• Strong analytical and technical skills demonstrated by experience in financial modeling and analysis
• Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.5 (Official transcripts will be requested as part of the interview process. Please have these readily available.)
• Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
• Relevant work experience with financial services clients is a plus
