Position Purpose

The digital plant and site IT leader leads the digital IT activities for the Boudry manufacturing facilities and labs. The impact ranges from site operations to network/cross site efforts to ongoing continuous improvement and new value opportunities. Activities include project & technical leadership, alignment to compliance expectations, ongoing operations and professional software asset management.

Site IT value add also includes development and deployment of local and corporate Manufacturing/Quality Systems strategies and initiatives. Role also works in collaboration with Corporate IT Quality Assurance and Compliance Management and site Quality management to ensure harmonization with corporate global policies, procedures, and direction and is a standing member of the Site Lead Team and Network IT Leadership Team for the Boudry site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a matrixed organization composed of both site direct reports and groups of indirect reports to deliver effective, innovative and stable solutions that meet the needs of the site.
  • Active member of the Site Leadership team. Collaborate with site leadership to develop, support, and align strategies for business process improvements through information systems automation.
  • Accountable for continuous operation and maintenance of process automation systems, MES, LIMS, local manufacturing, quality control and quality management site IT systems as well as associated site infrastructure.
  • Lead site service level management scope and process with IT groups and/or vendor managed services
  • Function as the liaison and the single point of contact between site leadership and corporate IT.
  • Provide IT leadership to site regulatory inspection readiness and data integrity initiatives.
  • Identify key technology trends and how new technologies might be leveraged to provide better solutions to the manufacturing site
  • Champion Digital First in a compliant manner.
  • Responsible for the development of long-term (3 year) roadmaps identifying capabilities that have the greatest impact on business capabilities for the organization. Partnering and benchmarking with external sources.

Expected Knowledge & Experience

  • Requires deep knowledge of work outside own function and deep expertise in own functions, typically gained through a university degree and at least 10-12 years of experience.
  • Pharmaceutical industry IT manufacturing and GMP experience, preferred
  • Responsible for the direct management of one or multiple teams including results/outcomes, goal setting, performance management, coaching.
  • Demonstrates leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects including resource and budget allocation and operational leadership.
  • Experience delivering across range of issues with strong influence and trust.
  • Demonstrated communications to achieve broader organizational/team goals. Tailors’ communication content and style to ensure stakeholder understanding.
  • Experience providing strategic feedback to vendors on service delivery, influences vendor delivery at a strategic level.
  • Identifies gaps in capabilities across the function and ensures developmental opportunities are provided to ensure the continued growth and development of colleagues.
