As an experienced operational marketer this role holds the 18-month rolling customer activity plan, bringing together the elements of the marketing mix to ensure a consistent message to customers.
The role holder must be fast paced, hand-on and able to identify opportunities to maximise customer/consumer interactions and value across multiple trade channels, in the most relevant and most efficient way. This customer focused role – with a good understanding of the retail business and the retail customer/consumer – brings our customer story to life on our retail sites, creating and execution point of sale assets across fuel, loyalty, meinAral and convenience.
Job Description:
Your new area of responsibility – challenging and future-oriented
The role will be focused on working closely with the Convenience team, Opex, Fleet, Fuels Product Manager & Operations and acting as key contact person with REWE for Marketing related activities.
In this role you are expected to :
- own the onsite activation of marketing activity across all our company owned and dealer branded sites.
- build, lead and drive a customer first activation plan across loyalty, meinAral, fuels and convenience.
- building plans for new and refresh store activity and where relevant build plans to protect sales against competitor impacts, securing support from other channel owners in marketing to execute.
- to main interface into convenience trading teams to ensure we have the best price and promotions for marketing activations including meinAra.
- Drive the digitalization of POS including but not limited to digital screens and content management across the network.
- be responsible for a best-in-class execution of our Marketing Strategy, covering all dimensions like Promotions, Loyalty/CRM, Digital, Social Media, POS activities.
- Input into our Aral Loyalty-, CRM-, App- and Digital-strategy: Loyalty and Digital will be embedded in the way in which we communicate and service the needs of our partners and customers. It will be required to support implementing new opportunities for Aral in the (digital) landscape to differentiate vs competitions to win & retain high value customers.

Your qualification profile – profound and passionate
- University degree in the fields of Business Administration with focus on Marketing.
Experience
- 5-7+ years in retail and ideally marketing operational role and/or a brand and comms lead role.
- Experience in working with 3rd party partners suppliers and agencies.
- Experience in onsite channel activation including management of print partnerships.
- Commercial skills essential, to identify opportunities and provide solutions to maximize marketing investment.
- Experience in team leadership to grow and nurture talent from career entry to first level leaders.
Skills:
- Strong skills in finding creative solutions to activating in store across traditional and digital channels.
- Ability to deliver within a process but also seek ways to improve and define new processes.
- Strong influencing and team engagement skills.
- Project Planning and Implementation.
- Alongside local language, candidate must have fluent English (verbal & writing) as English is primary language globally in bp.
- Role and track record to deliver commercially.
- Demonstrated expertise in launching products/ offer.
- Demonstrated financial delivery capabilities: performance tracking.
- Proven track record of challenging the status quo to deliver value for customers.
- Proven track record of being hands-on, curious, eager to (re-invent) and copy.
Desirable criteria
- Experience with food brand and ideally within QSR category.
- Convenience or food retail (supermarket) experience desirable.
