RSPCA

2024 is a big year for us as we turn 200 years young! We are proud of our long standing history in campaigning for a better world for animal welfare. We were the first to introduce a law to protect animals and have been working hard ever since to ensure that all animals can live free from pain and suffering.

Through our campaigns we raise standards of care, and awareness of issues, affecting animals today. Our vision is to one day live in a world where all animals are respected and treated with compassion. And that is what we work towards every day.

We are transforming our organisation to be here for all animals for the next 200 years. To help us do this, we are looking for a Business Change Lead to bring their experience and expertise in delivering lasting change in complex organisations. You will be working as part of the Strategy and Transformation team reporting into the Assistant Director of Transformation.

You will lead a newly formed business change team to work with our transformation programmes to deliver impactful change in a collaborative and engaging way. Our transformation journey is ambitious and touches every part of our organisation – we are delivering new technology, improving our services and changing the way we engage with our customers and communities.

You will play a significant part in leading change to make a 200 year organisation fit for the next 200 years; what an amazing and rewarding opportunity!

We are offering this role as a 24 month fixed term contract.

  • Working hours: 35 hours per week; Monday – Friday.
  • Hybrid role: You will work from home and from our London office.

This is a very collaborative role and to achieve your objectives, you will be required to travel on a regular basis to our various RSPCA sites. You will have fantastic opportunities to see the work of the RSPCA first hand and to collaborate with numerous members of the organisation, working at all levels.

Are you ready to be part of our journey and make a real difference to the future of our fantastic organisation?

We offer a wide range of benefits to recognise your contributions at RSPCA.

  • 35 hour week
  • Great Annual Leave benefits – 25 days annual leave on joining increasing each year to a maximum of 31 days (pro rata for part-time)
  • Additional Society day around Christmas.
  • Flexibility in hours – with the introduction of Core Hours staff can work their 35 hours flexibly across Monday to Friday. Core hours are 10.00am – 15.00 (please note this isn’t available for our frontline animal care roles)
  • Generous pension scheme
  • Career development through our in-house Learning & Development training
  • Charity worker discounts: Access to hundreds of discounts across many retailers, travel, insurance & cinema tickets.
  • Dog friendly offices at our London & South East Hub!

Here at RSPCA we know it’s a cliche but no two days are the same. We’ve added a short summary of what a typical day might look like for a Business Change Lead. For a full insight please refer to the attached job description.

You will lead the design and delivery of the overall approach for landing change effectively across the RSPCA and influence senior stakeholders to adopt good change management.

You will deploy Business Change Managers as and when needed and you will exercise wider influence through a network of change agents.

To succeed in this role, you will work collaboratively across the whole society and you will have the experience and knowledge needed to be able to adapt your approach depending on the stakeholders you are working with.

To succeed in this role, it is essential that you have demonstrable experience of landing change within a complex, multisite (preferably national) organisation.

You must be able to work well with multiple stakeholders and you must have proven success of inspiring and motivating front line and operational stakeholders to deliver lasting change.

You must also be able to demonstrate that you have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to relay complex information in a clear, compelling and engaging manner.
  • The confidence to present to large groups.
  • The ability to establish and maintain strong stakeholder relationships at all levels across the business, including up to executive level.
  • An analytical mindset and the ability to problem-solve.
  • A strong collaborative style with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a matrixed team.
  • The willingness to design strategic approaches to change, as well as being happy to step in and deliver / support change activities and products when required.

We are offering this role as a 24 month fixed term contract.

We are really lucky that some of our roles attract a high level of interest and for this reason we review applications as they are received, unfortunately on some occasions this means roles may close earlier than advertised; so early submissions are highly recommended.

We do try to give feedback where we can but sometimes due to receiving high levels of applications, this may not always be possible

We recognise that a diverse and inclusive workforce is essential to achieving our core mission. For this reason we actively encourage a wide diversity of applications – in particular from members of minority ethnic groups, and people with disabilities – as these candidates are currently under-represented at the RSPCA.

Should you need any support with your application or interview process please contact [email protected]

Our mission is to ensure animals have a good life by rescuing and caring for those in need, by advocating on behalf of all animals and by inspiring everyone to treat them with compassion and respect
