We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Programme Manager with experience of working in a similar sized organisation to join our Technology Change team based in Worcester. The role of Senior Programme Manager will include:

  • Delivering SAP, infrastructure and modernisation projects, ensuring cost effective and efficient delivery
  • Defining and managing programme scopes, plans and risks
  • Delivering services through effective financial performance and budgetary management
  • Managing external software suppliers to achieve value for money
  • Managing and chairing regular programme related meetings and providing weekly programme and project status reports to the senior management team
  • Undertaking analysis of customer needs to identify system and application developments and enhancements
  • Monthly Programme and Portfolio reporting to Executive Directors
  • Line managing up to 5 employees and serving as an escalation point for direct reports

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience leading on major programmes and IT transformation projects is desirable
  • Prince2 or MSP Practitioner
  • Experience of agile development and implementation techniques
  • Proven experience of senior stakeholder liaison and relationship building
  • Proven track record of demonstrating commercial acumen
  • Experience producing progress reports and management information, including making recommendations for changes needed
  • A confident and diligent approach
  • Substantial experience working to deadlines and prioritising work loads
  • Occasional travel may be requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential

  • Role salary is £60,765 with an additional policy allowance of £9,370 per annum (rising to £63,963 with an additional policy allowance of £9,863 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
