Contract/duration: Fixed term contract until 3 November 2024
Interviews: 5th or 6th February 2024.
Hours/working pattern/hours: Flexible hours available which includes weekend shifts, to be discussed at interview (No evenings and no split shifts)
What it’s like to work here
The iconic Hadrian’s Wall is a World Heritage Site, which sits within a portfolio of sites which also includes Allen Banks & Staward Gorge, Cherryburn and George Stephensons Birthplace. This position is based at Housesteads. Roles within this portfolio are varied and the team is looking for committed people who will contribute to the sites ongoing growth and success. You’ll need your own transport to reach this site, however the friendly team members often car share.

What you’ll be doing
Our visitors are a vital part of what we do. As one of the team of Service Assistants it will be your role to ensure that the welcome our visitors receive is perfect, setting them up for an amazing experience for the rest of their day. In this role, you’ll be;
- Working alongside a team of staff and volunteers, delivering outstanding customer service across the property
- Welcoming visitors to the property, providing information and orientation
- using property tills to check members membership status, and promoting our Growing Support strategy (Membership, donations & fundraising)
- Support across the property/portfolio when required.
