The Franchise Operations Specialist UAE– independently directs the program for the training and certification of all newly hired and promoted management personnel for Five Guys franchisees within the assigned territory, and is responsible for leadership that inspires store level teams and franchisees towards improvement, operational development and excellence.

This hands on position evaluates and manages the training systems and procedures used in franchise stores to ensure consistency throughout the Five Guys system and manages brand standards to ensure they are duplicated and maintained at all times at all locations.

This position requires possession of expert level knowledge of Five Guys’ policies and procedures and demonstrates a passion for restaurant operations and the Five Guys brand. The individuals in these positions are a critical component of restaurant openings and serves as a conduit of information between the Franchise Business Managers, Five Guys’ corporate offices and the field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develops, implements and evaluates the 4-week training program for all new management trainees; coordinates with the Franchise Business Manager in assigned area.

• Coaches and motivates Managers and Assistant Managers to perform at their highest level of ability.

• Ensures perfect burgers and fries are served at every Five Guys. Works alongside store employees training the franchise teams to prepare all food items to the highest quality standards

• Evaluates for reviews performance with each Manager trainee and provides feedback and recommendations to the franchisee’s supervision team and Five Guys’ Franchise Business Managers.

• Monitors and tracks Five Guys University performance. Directs full compliance and advises.

• Trains and ensures proficiency on the Secret Shopper Program, Steritech food safety, and POS functions.

• Organizes and leads frequent operations calibration meetings with all management personnel.

• Supervises trainees in accordance with established performance and operating policies as set out in the operations manual.

• Communicates schedules, goals, and issues to the Training Department.

• Works with the Training Department on restaurant openings and acquisitions.

• Oversees the GM train-the-trainer and customer service seminars.

• Visits franchise restaurants, observes operations and provides coaching to ensure sales growth and profitability.

• Demonstrates and trains on all back of the house systems for ordering and receiving, how to properly conduct an inventory and trouble shooting problems when they arise.

Education/Experience:

• High school Diploma or GED is required. Four-year college degree is preferred, with an emphasis in Restaurant, Hospitality, or Business Administration.

• Restaurant management experience is preferred, though not required.

• Five Guys work experience is preferred, though not required.

Language Ability:

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and public speaking skills are required in this position. This position requires the ability to communicate across diverse audiences, at all levels. The ability to read, write and comprehend complex instructions and correspondences is necessary. This position also requires the ability to read, analyze, create and interpret general business memos and documents.

Math Ability: This position requires basic business math skills.

Reasoning Ability:

The position requires the ability to analyze training results and make suggestions to improve programs. This position also requires the ability to comply with structured reporting.

Computer Skills:

Strong personal computer literacy is required, with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and other appropriate software. A thorough understanding of POS components and common business software is necessary.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for the supervision of management candidates during their training periods.

Physical Demands: Overnight travel required – 50% to 80%.

This position is a hands on training position working in our restaurants day to day.

Special Requirements/Certification: Food safety certification required – can be completed after hire.
