SENIOR MANAGER – HUMANITARIAN STRATEGY, LEARNING AND KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT

The Senior Manager, Humanitarian Strategy, Learning, and Knowledge Management promotes humanitarian strategy development, its delivery tracking, learning and information sharing, identifying and scaling the good practices of CARE & others, and influencing policy and practice by diverse actors and decision-makers on humanitarian issues. This position builds connections around the CARE International network and provides critical support to Country Offices, generating evidence of impact, seeking to influence change at scale, and telling CARE’s unique story.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Convert data and analysis into knowledge products for diverse users: develop learning strategy, linked to the CARE strategy, with a special focus on publications designed to reach technical audiences; support analysis and aggregation of research findings.
  • Support design of learning components in new proposals: help program design teams incorporate strong plans for learning, and adaptive management in major proposals.
  • Strategy Development: lead in Humanitarian Strategy development and reviews. Ensure coordination with other vision 2030 Impact strategy areas and embracing participation of other CMPs.
  • External representation and Engagement: function as an expert in various Learning and KM spaces, such as USAID’s CLA community of practice.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in complex and natural disasters
  • Skills and experience in programme assessment, design, monitoring, evaluation & accountability methodologies
  • Highly developed experience in quality assurance, standards and accountability mechanisms
  • Working knowledge of key humanitarian standards
  • Excellent analytical, research, assessment and report writing skills
