Senior Communications and Public Affairs Manager

The Position

As a Senior Communications and Public Affairs Manager at Roche, you will inspire the chapter and organization to pursue our North Star: delivering better outcomes for more patients faster with effective internal and external communication. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to create and execute a communication and public affairs strategy that meets legal and governmental requirements and market dynamics.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and measure sustainable, structured, and successful RPS communication in close collaboration with Senior Manager Communications and Operations, with a focus on external communications
  • Coordinate all external communications activities (planning, execution, and measurement, with the exception of social media) for the affiliate in close collaboration with Senior Manager Communications and Operations and relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Partner with internal business teams (Commercial, Medical, Compliance, Policy, Market Access, and others) to address external communication needs
  • Develop and execute communication activities (e.g. interviews, patient stories, Disease Awareness Stories) including successful placement in media and social media in collaboration with Cluster Head
  • Deliver executive communications with a focus on external presentations and speeches
  • Collaborate with Senior Manager Communications and Operations to enable a successful social media strategy for the business teams and for leadership communication
  • Manage communication service providers and agencies

Your part in Public Affairs:

  • Follow political, regulatory, and other relevant developments in the Swiss healthcare system and assess the impact on the organization and the industry in close collaboration with Cluster Governmental Affairs
  • Lead and coordinate all formal communications activities (including social media) related to public affairs (planning, execution, and measurement) for the affiliate in close collaboration with Senior Manager Communications and Operations, the Cluster Governmental Affairs, and relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Implement the public affairs strategy as an integral part of the communications strategy to enhance the organization’s image and reputation (planning, execution, channel mix, and measurement)

Your Qualifications:

  • Hold a university degree in communications, economics, or a similar field
  • Have experience in communicating in an international environment, with previous life science experience being an advantage
  • Have a track record in governmental or public affairs, preferably in life sciences
  • Have a well-established relevant network Be highly proficient in German and English, both written and spoken, with French being a plus
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
