Position Overview

The IBM i Series Administrator will be responsible for managing and supporting IBM i environments. This includes job flow, system monitoring, third-party applications, and system security. This role works closely with the programming staff and reports directly to the IT Manager.

Responsibilities

• Manage IBM i job flows, subsystems, and job descriptions.
• Monitor, update, and configure third-party applications.
• Implement and oversee IBM i security measures.
• Support user connectivity via TCP/IP, lines, controllers, and devices.
• Handle Save/Restore options and strategies, including working with IBM’s BRMS software.
• Read and interpret IBM i service logs, send required information to IBM.
• Comfortable with CL programming and general application support.
• Liaise with the programming staff for promoting/demoting program updates.

Skills Needed

• Familiarity with IBM i job flows, subsystems, and job descriptions.
• Experience with Third-Party applications, particularly the following:
• Prodata DBU
• PTC Host-Dev
• AFPTOOL, MAILTOOL, SPOOLTOOL
• SEA Audit, Hawkeye, ZipCity/PerZip4, Z4LatLon
• PowerTech Authority Broker, PowerTech AntiVirus
• And more
• Strong understanding of IBM i security (authorities, user profiles, etc.)
• Comfortable with user connectivity (TCP/IP, lines, controllers, devices).
• Familiar with Save/Restore options and IBM’s BRMS software.
• Competency in CL programming and IBM i internal database.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in IBM i system administration.
• Must have permanent Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship

Colorado Pay Range

20 – 125/per Hour
