Learning Management System Project Officer

Position – permanent, full time

Location – remote, UK or Netherlands based with requirement to travel quarterly to HALO’s offices in the UK for meetings and international travel to programmes when needed.

Salary – £30,000 to £40,000 dependent upon experience

About the role:

HALO wishes to recruit a Learning Management System (LMS) Project Officer, who will oversee and manage HALO’s LMS as part of HALO’s global training team.

Providing online learning opportunities for over 12,000 staff dispersed in 28 countries and territories has become an increasing priority for HALO. The LMS enables professional development and refresher training, and supports the adoption of new standards and compliance processes throughout the organisation.

The successful candidate will work with subject-matter experts from across HALO departments and programmes to develop new training courses, coordinate translation and promote adoption of the system for staff development throughout the organisation.

The LMS Project Officer will also work closely with members of the training team and other specialists to incorporate the LMS in hybrid training courses.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing continuous improvements to the efficiency and effectiveness of the HALO LMS, ensuring HALO staff are trained to the highest standards and have access to professional development opportunities.
  • Creating high-quality e-learning content
  • Day-to-day management of the HALO LMS
  • Ensuring further developments with regards to LMS localisation and ensuring the LMS is available in languages that our staff speak.
  • Coordinating with system suppliers
  • Exploring new systems and tools (e.g. VR content development)
  • Monitoring and reporting LMS-related outputs within HALO internally and to project donors
  • Ensuring the LMS stays within budgets dedicated to the project
  • Exploring new funding opportunities for the LMS, including funding for system subscriptions
  • Making available guidance and documentation on HALO’s intranet
  • Promoting the LMS internally within HALO
  • Exploring collaboration opportunities with external stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Experience creating engaging e-learning experiences in collaboration with subject matter experts using content authoring tools.
  • Experience administering a learning management system.
  • Experience gathering user requirements, conducting needs assessments and developing actionable project goals and objectives
  • Excellent stakeholder management and engagement skills and the ability to promote adoption of the LMS as a training tool.
  • Fluent written and spoken English

Desirable:

  • Experience with Litmos, Elucidat and CAT tools
  • Experience managing a project budget
  • Knowledge of other languages used by HALO staff (particularly Arabic, Ukrainian, Portuguese, Spanish)
